The Migrant is a fantastical multimedia story about our relationship with animals, rapid urbanisation and our attempt to shape an ideal society. The book is originally envisioned as a unique object to read out loud from. The trade edition kept all the special elements of the artist book: photos presented in a golden screenprinting technique mimicking a wajang puppet play, a graphic story illustrated by graphic novelist Sonny Liew, a pop-up based on the original design of the pop-ups in the artist edition by designer Moon Brouwer.
